BUT THIS WON'T LAST FOREVER...

The paediatric heart surgery unit headed by Dr.Devi Prasad Shetty and including specialist surgeons Dr.Colin John, Dr.Rajesh Sharma and Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian, paediatric cardiologist Dr.Sunitha Maheshwari, and intensivist Dr.Amit Verma is dedicated to promoting excellent treatment to children with heart defects and expanding the horizons of paediatric heart care in India.

Last year, in 2002, we treated 634 underprivileged children with heart defects and raised Rs.5.4 crore for this.

For 2003, we're setting our targets higher!

This year, we plan to treat 3000 children - yes, three thousand

We have the staff and resources to do this. Our 10 state-of-art operating rooms are geared to perform 3 operations a day.

3 operations X 10 ORs X 300 days = 9000 patients treated

But we need the funds to cover the cost of surgery

The magic number is Rs.24,00,00,000 (Rs.24 crore)

- in 4 different ways.

Think about it!

It's a huge number. Until you realize that there are 6 billion people on earth!

1 billion of them are in India. 6 million have access to email and the Internet. 1 million can afford to donate Rs.100 or more. 100,000 can give more.
