Swetha - Atrial Septal Defect

Swetha is 8 years old, is in fifth grade – and weighs a puny 16 kilograms! Her health has been affected by a large defect in her heart, an ASD, causing breathlessness and frequent chest colds.

On Thursday, Swetha became the first of what we hope will be a long series of patients who underwent heart surgery in the “Ilam Sirar Ithayam Kappom” program.

The cost of her operation was partially funded by our State Government, with the rest of the money coming from donations to the Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation.

She’s recovering well after her surgery… thanks to generous, kind-hearted people like you. Thank you – from my heart!
