Maruthupandi - CHD surgery sponsored by Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation
MARUTHUPANDI is a 17 year old college student. He is the pride of his close-knit community - because he is the first to graduate high school and pursue higher education.
The missionary charity that had adopted the community had heard about Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation through a mutual friend. Father Clement Joseph met me and explained how helping Maruthu get his Atrial Septal Defect repaired would make a big difference to the group.
On February 13th, 2009 we celebrated "A Day For Hearts - Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Day" by operating on him successfully. He is now recuperating at home, happy that his ordeal has ended, and ready to take on a new academic year at his college beginning in June.
