Ranchana - CHD surgery sponsored by Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation
5 year old Ranchana was no stranger to the operating room.
An unfortunate attack of German measles (Rubella) infection her mother suffered during pregnancy left this chirpy, cheerful little girl (who has a captivating bright smile) burdened with thick-lens spectacles from a cataract operation - and a heart birth defect called an Atrial Septal Defect.
Her parents had already spent a small fortune on her medical treatment and were near their wits end about how to afford her heart operation. Ranchana's mother, a nurse herself, went about her daily duties, worried about her child's future.
Her operation, partly funded by the Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation through donations made by our generous supporters, was successfully performed in May 2006.
Ranchana made a speedy recovery, raring to get out of hospital as early as the fifth day after her operation. She is back at school - and her parents feel as if a weight has been lifted off their hearts.
Life is bright again - and donors like you made it possible!
