Sangeetha - CHD surgery sponsored by Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation
Sangeetha is 4 years old. To look at her, you wouldn't say she had a heart birth defect.
But her Patent Ductus Arteriosus was holding her back at playschool. She couldn't keep up with her peers, stopping when she was short of breath after just a few minutes of play.
Her father earns a modest monthly income of Rs.2,500 that is barely enough to cover household expenses, with nothing left over for costly heart surgery.
Thankfully, little Sangeetha was referred to the Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation by her family doctor, and her operation was safely carried out in February 2007 - funded by donations raised during the Heart Kids Blogathon.
Back at kindergarden, the little girl is now a bundle of mischief, active, happy and no longer breathless. Once again, our donors helped make a difference to a child's life!
