"Many have emailed or sent letters over the years asking what prayers I pray regularly.
While I have quite a few, below are some that sit adjacent my desk in my oceanfront treehouse office:
* Saint Paul to the Philippians:
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.
* Lord, may everything we do begin with your inspiration, continue with your help, and reach perfection under your guidance. We ask this through our lord Jesus Christ, you Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit.
* I tell you solemnly, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours, says the Lord.
* And finally form the Gospel of Luke:
Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more demanded of the person entrusted with more.
