FUNDS AND ACCOUNTING

We have created a non-profit trust, the Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation. It has been registered under the Indian Registries Act, and approved by the Income Tax authorities for granting tax rebates for donations made by Indian residents, under Section 80G.

Just a few weeks before the Heart Kids Blogathon 2005, we received permission under FCRA (Foreign Currency Regulatory Authority), permitting the Dr.Mani Children Heart Foundation to transfer funds into India, to put to use in sponsoring heart operations.

The funds raised during the Blogathon will now be put to use to fund many more operations.
